Southwest style earrings with a modern sensibility
Ingredients:
* vintage Sterling Silver stamped dangle
* lampwork beads by Mona Sullivan (they are slightly different but coordinate)
* turquoise
* Sterling Silver beads and earwires
These dangle 3.5" from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the stamped silver dangle.
Mesa Verde is a place I'd like to go back and visit. I visited the first time in about 1972 or 73 as a kid. I remember being fascinated by the cliff dwellings. The area was first inhabited about 7500 BC (!) by the nomadic Paleo-Indians. Later tribes built semi-permanent cave dwellings and then the more dramatic ones seen now were built around the end of the 12th century and were abandoned shortly thereafter due to prolonged droughts. The area is desert and stark and it's hard to imagine it being a spot to set down roots.
