Hope Floats No.4
I love rummaging through antique or junk stores that are not well curated. They give me hope (!) that I'll find some treasures that others have missed. On one of those adventures I came across a collection of antique watch fobs. Before WWI and as early as the late 18th century gentlemen would carry pocket watches and dangle outside their pocket from a chain or ribbon - a fob or charm. The invention of the wrist watch ended this charming tradition.
While creating this pendant I imagined a sea captain out to sea looking forward to his return where he would find his wife standing in the Captain's Walk (no widow walk here!) waving a welcome.

* vintage carved and stained bone rosary chain - no clasp 26 inches
* vintage brass and crystal beads
* found shell
* waxed linen

For the first time I've created a collection where I explored an idea to see where it led me. These are all boho style jewelry that are one of a kind and fun to wear.
I am calling this collection Hope Floats as it was inspired by hope, the sea, and my collection of Japanese fishing floats.
