This is our fourth summer in Port Angeles and I finally got a photo I've been wanting since our UPS driver told me how he would wait at a specific spot each year to capture it on film. It was pure luck for me, because it's been so cloudy this year that I had no idea where the sun was in its cycle relative to Mt. Baker.
Throughout the year the sun rises in a slightly different spot across the Strait from our home. Only one day does the sun come up behind Mt. Baker and create this illusion that it's on fire or erupting like a volcano.
