Our Pacific Northwest ArtFire Guild just had a challenge to create something from a childhood memory of the Fall season. Even though I'd actually been the one to come up with it (!) I stalled til the very last minute.
I've always enjoyed a good scare as long as someone I trusted was by my side. Halloween was fun for me not only because of the candy, but because I was constantly expecting to be scared just a little. Spider Elegance (SOLD) comes from that memory. These are actually rather elegant. The interpretation of a web as the bead cap and a spider above her ball of eggs can also be seen as fancy pair of black and white pearl earrings. Halloween Ball or Black and White Ball?
Fall is the end of the harvest season in many states and was the case in Virginia when I was growing up. The dry and dead looking garden was highlighted by wonderful pumpkins that promised pumpkin pie and jack-o-lanterns! My Pumpkin Harvest earrings have a vintage look with their shimmering mother of pearl carved leaves that dangle from faceted carnelian pumpkin. The following earrings are also available in my shops that have an Autumn flair.
